Dalhousie - Himachal Pradesh: Journeying Back To The Colonial Era Charm

Dalhousie Himachal Pradesh

Dalhousie is known as India’s Switzerland and was set up by the British Empire in India in 1853 as a summer retreat for its troops and bureaucrats. Dalhousie is at an altitude of 6,000 and 9,000 feet (2,700 m) above sea level.

The hill station is built around five hills--Potreyn, Bakrota, Bhangora, Kathalagh, and Terah. Lying at the western edge of the Dhauladhar mountain range of the Himalayas, the hill station of Dalhousie oozes an old-world charm with lingering echoes of the British Raj.
